This post is a vacation post because I am on vacation in Ukraine. To be more specific I am on the train from Kiev to Lviv with Internet access in second class. The access led me to consider the level of connectivity in Ukraine versus my home town, New York City. in short, Kiev wins hands down with more Free wifi locations all over the place. In NYC one needs to do a search for wireless access to find a cafe (often Starbucks) where one can connect and often there are problems. What’s up Mr. Bloomberg? I thought you wanted New York to be the next IT hotspot. I guess Kiev has us beat.
On another note, Kiev is also heavily mobile with QR codes in many locations. People have feature phones and smart phones and use them on the Metro. Oh, did I mention Metro cell availability?
